J.W. Cudd's love for music was visible from the time he was five years old in Corpus Christi, Texas. Wanting to sing solos at church and school functions, people started to see the making of a star rise up from the rest of the crowd. J.W.'s passion for country music led him down a road like no other, inspiring him to share his music throughout all of the United States was only the beginning of a long journey all over the world. Over the years, J.W.'s family has played an important role in his life, driving him to accomplish new goals and dreams and to never give up. J.W. recalls that no matter where his family went and no matter what they were doing they always had a great country song on to sing along to and to talk about. In high school, J.W. has received many awards in his choral performances and competitions receiving superior rankings at state U.I.L. On top of that, he has been rewarded with many academic awards for his hard work and dedication in school. When J.W. was fifteen he was determined to try out for American Idol, but beacuse of his age he later found out he could not. Instead that drove him harder to push his love for country music and at the age of fifteen he cut his first single "Between the Lines"released only in Corpus Christi, Texas. The response for "Between the Lines" was phenomenal. Radio stations went out of their way to interview the fifteen year old boy who just wanted to spread his love for country music. J.W.'s debut single "Let's Put Our Hearts Together"hit the Texas Music Scene with a successful impact. Peaking at #26, "Let's Put Our Hearts Together" stayed on the charts for 15 weeks. This debut single placed J.W. in a whole new category. He is recorded as the "YOungest Artist to Ever Chart" on the Texas Music Chart. His sophomore release, "Gold Digger's Dream," is due to be released in the early months of 2006 nationally. Soon after J.W.'s name was recognized by his singles, Cudd hit the stage. He has performed and has been the main act for many charity organizations such as the USO, Refugio Opry, South Texas Opry for the Al Amin Shriners Temple Children's Burn Hospital,the TExas Music Festival. He has opened for David Lee Murphy, Roger Creager, Robert Earl Keen, Jack Ingram, the Eli Young Band, Jarrod Birmingham and Honeybrowne. J.W. spent 6 weeks on the road touring all of Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, and Louisiana. J.W.has been working on various projects since Feb. 2006, in Hollywood. Currently, J.W. and UnderPressure are scheduled to perform at Willie Nelson's 4th of July Picnic. Some of J.W.'s hobbies include singing, tennis, horseback riding, running, shooting pool, and songwriting. Some of J.W.'s favorite times are simply jamming and rehearsing with his band named Under Pressure. His future plans include touring across the United States in the summer of 2006 promoting his sophomore release "Gold Digger's Dream."
